Dear Lee:
Three weeks have passed since our children’s wedding and I am finally coming back to reality. I, do, however, want to send you and your family a special thank you letter for making our party a truly memorable event. It takes a lot of special effort to host 300 people and get rave reviews.
Working with you from the get go was a real pleasure. You were professional, yet friendly, accommodating all our requests (some easier than others) and followed through with your promises. Melanie and Paul had their dream wedding come true (though in march of last year Melanie was a hard sell) and our expectations for ambiance, superior quality of food and service were all more than fulfilled. I wish I had tasted more of the hor’s d’oeuvres during cocktails – both Lenny and I missed out. The dinner was great, all of the waiters attentive and just plain nice, and the room was filled with the good vibes of people having a wonderful time. Please thank Doria for the Kapusta at Midnight – it tasted just right. We are still receiving letters from our friends telling us how much fun they had. I can only hope that you will get some future bookings as a result of our wedding party.
I am enclosing a check for $100 as a donation to the Immaculate Conception Church to cover the limo you searched out for us in the last minute.
We don’t expect to be up for awhile, but will certainly make an effort to stop by and say hello when we do. I wish you and your family a wonderful thanksgiving filled with much love and happiness. Dear Lee and Staff,
I was a guest at your establishment recently at the wedding of my sister. I just wanted you to know I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend there. Then entire environment was relaxed and enjoyable. That, for the most part was due to your entire team working hard, together.
I noticed there were no requests from the guests which were not accommodated quickly and cheerfully, professionally. Kids wanting equipment, guests wanting to swim even through the pool area wasn’t officially open, the beer was cold and the food was hot. This is the goal of any profession and you did it well. Thank you.
I especially want to commend two things: I don’t know his name but we had one waiter who was with us throughout the weekend, serving all meals. He had a very, pleasant demeanor and seemed extremely calm and well paced. Despite the fact that he must have been tired going from evening work right into duty the next morning, he always had a great attitude and way about him. Thanks to him especially.
Second. While there I misplace a cigarette lighter and was unsure when. I called and the front desk person kept my call going while answering other requests. The lighter had a special value to me. It was a gift from someone I knew while overseas who didn’t have the means to give such a gift without big sacrifice. It therefore means a lot to me and reminds me often of the person and what it means to really give. Thank you very much for getting the lighter back to me.
Oh, I guess there was a third significant thanks due. I am the woman who made my sister’s cake. Thanks for allowing me to be a personal part of that celebration. I know precisely what it means to allow such a thing: the reflection on your establishment, those kazillion chances a cake like that has to be screwed up (and you know the kitchen would be pressed to hard to “just fix something up” last minute,) as well as the utter mess something like a wedding cake can be if not professionally structured. Just disassembling it and making it look less that something which fell from the empire state building often takes incredible effort. Thanks for taking the risk of those things, for giving me a clean reach in to store it, thanks for letting me have a place to finish last minute details, the buffet raisers and a place to put the flowers on while you guys were busy and needed space. I appreciate that.
It was a terrific weekend, one which will be long remembered by our family. Few people know the effort this coordination takes. I do, because I work it. You guys did an excellent job. Feel free if you wish, to use this letter as testimony for future guests considering holding an event at your establishment.
